Pink Pepper is Scentsy's 2012 Scent of the Year

For safety reasons, I've long been a proponent of flameless alternatives to traditional candles. These can include battery-operated versions (which now look more like the real thing and often come with a remote control) or wickless candles, like Scentsy's wax warmers (left). These decorative electric pots use the heat from a 25-watt bulb in the base to warm and slowly melt cubes of scented wax placed in the dish on top. there's something really new. Working with trend and fragrance experts, Scentsy has announced Pink Pepper (right) as its up-and-coming fragrance note for 2012 and the one to watch for in both home and fine fragrances in the coming year. Distilled from the berries of the Peruvian pepper tree (the same berries used in cooking), the Pink Pepper scent is both spicy and slightly floral. Scentsy will be offering an assortment of wax fragrances containing Pink Pepper notes throughout 2012. And for the really adventurous, Pink Pepper is even available as a single, solid bar to melt with other wax fragrances to create your own customized signature scent.
